Record Attendances at French Ligue 1 Matches in 2023-24 Season
French Ligue 1 matches in the 2023-24 season have seen record-breaking attendances, with an average of over 26,700 fans flocking to the stadiums, according to a statement by the league. This marks a 12% increase compared to the number of fans at mid-season last year, with an average crowd of 26,742 spectators in attendance.
This season, a total of 4,091,572 supporters have already watched Ligue 1 matches after 17 match days. This represents an increase of 20,000 compared to the previous season when there were 17 fewer games played by the halfway point.
Several clubs have witnessed a significant surge in attendance, including Brest, Nice, AS Monaco, and Stade de Reims. In fact, eight out of the 18 Ligue 1 clubs recorded an occupancy rate greater than 90%, with strong attendance from the likes of Olympique de Marseille and Paris St Germain.
