New York Red Bulls Vs Colorado Springs Switchbacks

Harrison, NJ — The New York Red Bulls kick off their 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign tonight against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The Round of 32 match is set to start at 9:30 p.m. ET at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, and fans can catch the action on Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo Network, and New York Red Bulls Radio.

Coverage begins on Paramount+ at 9:30 p.m. ET, with Joe Malfa as the play-by-play announcer and Kacey White joining him for commentary. New York Red Bulls Radio will also broadcast a Countdown to Kickoff at 9 p.m. ET, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.

This marks the Red Bulls’ 26th appearance in the U.S. Open Cup, where they hold a record of 27 wins and 22 losses across 53 matches. This year is particularly significant for them as it is their first return since playing in the tournament in 2023. The Switchbacks enter the match with a current record of 1-3-4 in the USL Championship, having recently won the USL Championship Final last season.

Colorado Springs advanced to the Open Cup after winning against One Knoxville SC with a score of 3-2 in their earlier round. The Red Bulls have a solid history in their opening matches of the tournament, holding a record of 16 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw.

Forward Mohammed Sofo recently scored his second MLS goal of the season against Inter Miami CF. In his three career MLS starts, Sofo has found the net twice. Defender Omar Valencia also made headlines with his fourth assist of the season, ranking first among active MLS defenders this season.

After tonight’s match, the Red Bulls will return home to face the Los Angeles Galaxy on May 10 for Noche Latina, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Fans can also enjoy live coverage of that match on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in both English and Spanish.
