The highly anticipated Christmas action-comedy film, *Red One*, is set to hit U.S. theaters on November 15, 2024. Directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Chris Morgan, the film stars Dwayne Johnson as Callum Drift, the head of Santa Claus‘s security, and Chris Evans as Jack O'Malley, a mercenary hacker.

The plot revolves around the kidnapping of Santa Claus by an infiltration team, prompting Callum Drift to team up with Jack O’Malley to rescue him. The film also features a star-studded cast, including Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Nick Kroll, and J.K. Simmons.

*Red One* was initially scheduled for a Christmas 2023 release on Prime Video but was delayed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and is now receiving a worldwide theatrical release. The film has already been released in several international markets, including the UK and Ireland on November 6, and Latin America on November 7.

Despite its high-profile cast and production, *Red One* has received generally negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 33% approval rating based on 33 reviews, with an average rating of 4.2/10. Metacritic assigned it a weighted average score of 36 out of 100, indicating “generally unfavorable reviews”.

The film’s box office performance has been modest so far, with *Red One* pulling in $26 million from 75 countries where it opened last weekend. It is projected to gross $20–40 million in its domestic opening weekend in the U.S..
