Rev. Canon Katie Pearson Returns to All Saints by-the-Sea for September Services
The All Saints by-the-Sea community welcomes Rev. Canon Katie Pearson for the first two Sundays in September. She will lead the service of Holy Communion at 8 and 10 a.m. on both Sundays. Accompanying the services will be organ music provided by esteemed organist, Mr. Henry Lowe.
Following the 10 a.m. services, attendees are invited to enjoy a time for fellowship and coffee on the chapel grounds. People from all faiths are encouraged to participate in these events.
Rev. Pearson, currently serving as Canon Pastor of St. John’s Cathedral in Denver, Colorado, brings her diverse experience as a pastor, priest, and teacher. Among her responsibilities at the cathedral are Christian formation, lay leadership, and pastoral care ministries. She obtained her Master of Divinity degree from Iliff School of Theology and has a diploma in Anglican Studies from Sewanee’s School of Theology.
Prior to her ordination, Rev. Pearson was a high school English teacher and was actively involved in volunteer work and church leadership. Having lived in various regions across the United States and overseas, she and her husband, Don, are parents to three adult children.
An informal discussion related to the week’s scripture passages will be hosted by Rev. Pearson on Tuesday, September 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. This event is open to both All Saints attendees and members of other local churches.
All Saints by-the-Sea is located on Southport Island along All Saints Road, approximately two miles on the left when driving south on Route 238. The church is easily identifiable by its Episcopal Church sign. Parking is available along Route 238 and in limited handicapped spaces off All Saints Road, with a golf cart service provided to assist those from the handicapped lot to the church steps. Additionally, the chapel dock is now accessible for individuals arriving by boat. Although the main worship season concludes on September 8, the historic wood chapel will remain open for quiet prayer and meditation until mid-October.
