RIIZE’s Seunghan to Resume Activities After Hiatus
Seunghan, a member of the South Korean boyband RIIZE, will be resuming group activities after an almost year-long hiatus, as confirmed by SM Entertainment. The announcement, made on October 11, 2024, states that Seunghan will gradually rejoin the group starting next month.
According to a statement released by Wizard Production, the company responsible for RIIZE’s production, Seunghan had stepped away from his activities due to issues related to his pre-debut personal life. In their message to the fans, Wizard Production noted, “It has been around 10 months since Seunghan went on a hiatus due to issues with his pre-debut personal life.”
“Seunghan acknowledges that his past actions were wrong,” the statement continued, “and he has been reflecting while feeling apologetic to the members and his fans.” They discussed the timing of Seunghan’s return extensively and have now decided that RIIZE’s future activities would be more meaningful with all seven members together.
During the announcement, Wizard Production expressed gratitude to the fans who have been patient despite the lack of updates regarding Seunghan’s status. They emphasized the importance of this decision, highlighting that “Seunghan will gradually participate in some of the group’s scheduled activities for November and greet the fans once again.”
Following this announcement, Seunghan shared his thoughts through a handwritten letter to the fans on a community platform. He stated, “I sincerely want to apologize to the members and the fans. I am filled with gratitude and remorse for this second chance.” He promised to “work harder and do better” in future activities with the group.
Seunghan’s return marks a significant point for the group which, since its debut, has been working towards building a reputable image in the highly competitive K-pop industry. The hiatus was initially announced due to “private matters” that had surfaced online, prompting the decision to temporarily minimize his participation.
