Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Rebranded as Rocket Arena for 30th Anniversary

CLEVELAND — The Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Monsters, has been officially rebranded as Rocket Arena in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The announcement was made by Rock Entertainment Group on Tuesday.
Nic Barlage, CEO of Rock Entertainment Group, stated, “Guided by Chairman Dan Gilbert’s vision, we are committed to making a positive impact on our communities, clients and fans. For 30 years, Rocket Arena has been a cornerstone of Cleveland, showcasing the energy and vibrancy of Northeast Ohio.”
The venue, originally opened as Gund Arena in 1994, has undergone various name changes over the years: Quicken Loans Arena, then Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in 2019 after a significant renovation costing $185 million. Throughout this time, the arena has hosted over 5,000 events, including notable occasions such as five NBA Finals and two NBA All-Star Games.
“By hosting unforgettable sports and entertainment moments, we’ve united people across the region and beyond,” Barlage added. “As we enter this new chapter, we’re focused on elevating every aspect of the Rocket Arena experience and bringing Cleveland to the world.”
With major events having been limited due to the coronavirus pandemic, the rebranding marks a renewed commitment to community engagement and hosting large-scale concerts and shows in the coming years. The arena continues to play a pivotal role in Cleveland’s cultural landscape, serving as a venue for significant sports and entertainment events.
When Gilbert acquired the Cavaliers in 2005, the arena was still known as Quicken Loans Arena until its transformation in 2019. The impact of the renovation and subsequent rebranding is expected to enhance the experience for fans and attendees.
