Rodtang Jitmuangnon Weigh In One 169

Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the renowned Muay Thai fighter, has lost his ONE Championship flyweight Muay Thai title due to failing to make weight for his upcoming bout at ONE 169. The event, scheduled for Saturday, will still proceed with Rodtang’s opponent, Jacob Smith, as the only eligible contender for the vacant title.

During the official weigh-ins in Bangkok, Rodtang passed a hydration test on his first attempt but came in at 135.5lbs, exceeding the weight limit. He returned later within the three-hour window but failed the hydration test on his second attempt and declined to check his weight again. This incident marks another instance of Rodtang missing weight in his ONE Championship career, including his most recent fight in June.

As a result, Jacob Smith, who successfully made weight, will receive 20 percent of Rodtang’s 10 million baht fight purse, approximately US$58,700. The co-main event between Rodtang and Smith will proceed as a catchweight bout, with only Smith eligible to win the title.

The weigh-in drama also affected another bout, as Tagir Khalilov failed to pass hydration and make weight for his flyweight Muay Thai fight against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai. However, other fights on the card, including the strawweight kickboxing title fight between Jackie Buntan and Anissa Meksen, are set to go ahead as planned after the fighters successfully made weight.
