Davion Carter Nba Debut Sacramento Kings

Davion Carter, the No. 13 pick in the 2024 NBA draft, is set to make his season debut for the Sacramento Kings tonight against the Golden State Warriors. The 22-year-old rookie, who underwent left shoulder surgery in July, has been rehabilitating and recently played two games with the Kings’ G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, to prepare for his return.

Carter, a standout at Providence College, averaged 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season, earning Big East Player of the Year honors. His father, Anthony Carter, a 13-year NBA veteran and current Kings assistant coach, will be on the sidelines for his son’s debut.

Interim coach Doug Christie confirmed Carter’s availability, noting his progress in recovery and readiness to contribute. “Davion has worked incredibly hard to get back on the court,” Christie said. “We’re excited to see what he can bring to the team.”

The Kings have won two consecutive games under Christie since the firing of head coach Mike Brown. Carter’s debut adds a fresh dynamic to a team looking to build momentum in the second half of the season.
