Royal Caribbean Introduces Earlier Sailings for Star of the Seas in 2026

MIAMI, Fla. — Royal Caribbean International has unveiled changes to its highly anticipated Star of the Seas cruise schedule, announcing earlier sailings for select dates in August 2026. The revised sailings aim to accommodate eager guests ahead of the ship’s official debut, which includes a premium three-night cruise option.
The new 3-night showcase cruise is set to occur on August 20, just ahead of the previously planned showcase cruises on August 23 and August 27, culminating in a full seven-night departure on August 31. Doug Parker, a cruise industry expert, detailed the shift in itinerary, stating, “Royal Caribbean is moving up the debut of Star of the Seas, adding a new three-night ‘Perfect Day’ cruise on August 20th now, ahead of its inaugural season.”
This adjustment comes amid concerns from existing guests who have already arranged their travel plans around the initial schedule. Several cruisers have expressed hesitation about rearranging their added travel commitments, especially regarding non-refundable airline tickets. Parker noted, “Guests already booked on the Showcase Cruise can choose to switch to the new sailing or keep the original reservation. Although many have non-refundable flights, the ship has humorously been nicknamed ‘The Stress of the Seas.’”
The cruise line is promoting the new showcase cruise as an attractive option, with prices starting at $1,108 per person. The Star of the Seas is the second ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class, following the successful launch of the Icon of the Seas from last year.
Royal Caribbean has highlighted the array of onboard experiences that guests can expect on this innovative vessel. According to promotional materials, the Star of the Seas will feature options for “mindblowing thrills, next-level chill, bolder bonding, epic celebrations, and wanderlusting exploration,” setting the stage for what the cruise line describes as “The Next Icon of Vacations.” All sailings will depart from Port Canaveral, culminating in an immersive week of luxury and adventure.
Looking toward the future, Royal Caribbean is also preparing for a significant lineup in Asia starting in the 2026-2027 season. Benjamin Bouldin, President of Royal Caribbean International China, commented, “This is one of our most exciting lineups yet, with incredible new destinations and longer, more immersive itineraries. From vibrant cityscapes to breathtaking coastal escapes, these new adventures are designed for travelers looking to experience the best of Asia in a whole new way.” Among the planned voyages is an eight-night adventure to iconic landmarks such as Mount Fuji and Nagoya aboard the Spectrum of the Seas.
As bookings for the newly announced sailings remain open, Royal Caribbean continues to adapt its offerings to meet evolving traveler interests and enhance the cruising experience.
