Rush Announces ‘Fifty Something’ Tour to Honor Neil Peart

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Legendary Canadian rock band Rush is set to embark on a seven-date tour titled the ‘Fifty Something’ tour in summer 2026. This announcement follows the band’s 2015 farewell concert and pays tribute to their late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who passed away in January 2020 from glioblastoma.
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, the surviving members of Rush, will kick off the tour with two nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 7 and 9. They will then perform in Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and conclude in Cleveland on September 17. The tour aims to celebrate Rush’s extensive musical history and Peart’s legacy.
For this tour, drummer Anika Nilles will join Lee and Lifeson. Nilles is known for her work with Jeff Beck and her numerous solo albums. Her addition marks a new chapter for the band as they prepare to draw from their impressive catalog of songs.
The announcement occurred during a private event at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where Lee and Lifeson revealed the tour to fans and media. A fan’s question prompted the musicians to discuss the possibility of touring again, leading to their enthusiastic confirmation.
Lee expressed the emotional weight of this decision, stating, “It was a very sad time, and it took time for us to even contemplate” touring without Peart. Lifeson echoed this sentiment but noted how jamming together reignited their passion for performing. “We were laughing so hard, and we were enjoying it so much,” he said.
Peart’s family has expressed their support for the upcoming tour. Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart released a joint statement saying they were thrilled to see Rush honor Neil’s legacy through this celebration of their music.
As part of the tour, Lee and Lifeson intend to perform around 35 to 36 songs across different shows to keep the setlist fresh. They also plan to pay tribute to Peart during each performance.
Fans can expect ticket presales to start on October 13, with general sales beginning on October 17. This marks the first time Lee and Lifeson will take the stage together since Rush’s last tour.
