Rutgers Football Injury Report Players

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers Football is preparing to face Iowa tonight in a crucial Big Ten matchup. As kickoff approaches at 3:30 PM EST, the Scarlet Knights have released their latest injury report, shedding light on player availability.

Key players, wide receiver Ian Strong and left tackle Tyler Needham, are both listed as questionable. Strong did not play against Norfolk State last week due to a knock sustained in an earlier game against Miami of Ohio.

Needham left the contest against Norfolk State in the third quarter but was seen walking off the field under his own power. Head coach Greg Schiano expressed concern about the team’s overall health. “We’re down quite a few guys that were going to be in the two deep already,” he noted.

Rutgers is also dealing with the absence of running back CJ Campbell, who suffered an ankle injury last weekend. Campbell did not put weight on his leg when helped off the field and emerged from the injury tent in a walking boot.

The full injury report includes:

OUT: RB CJ Campbell, OL Nick Oliveira, DB Cannon Marshall, DL Braxton Kyle, WR Jourdin Houston, WR Vernon Allen, DB Davoun Fuse, DB Michael Clayton, OL Dantae Chin (season), DB Steven Murray (season), DL Doug Blue-Eli (season), DB DK Gilley (season).

QUESTIONABLE: RB Sam Brown, OL Tyler Needham, WR Ian Strong.

This marks the fourth meeting between Rutgers and Iowa, with Rutgers historically winning all previous encounters, including a decisive 63-13 victory in 2015. Big Ten rules require teams to release their injury reports two hours before kickoff.

As the Scarlet Knights gear up for their fourth game of the season, the stakes are high as they look to maintain their perfect record against a competitive Hawkeyes team.
