Ryan Reynolds Surprises Staples High School with Visit During Rehearsal
WESTPORT, CT — Actor Ryan Reynolds visited Staples High School on Monday, October 20, to watch a rehearsal of the school’s production of “Les Misérables.” The visit came at the request of the Fipp family, who are local supporters of the school’s theater program.
Reynolds, famous for his role in the “Deadpool” movies, shared insights about his life and career with the excited cast and crew, expressing his admiration for the musical. “Les Mis, as you may or may not know, is amazing, and it will be performed by these folks,” he said in a video shared on the school’s Facebook page.
Lindsay Fipp, the president of Staples Players Boosters Inc., which raises funds for the theater company, coordinated the event. “A big thanks to the Fipp family for making this visit happen,” the school stated, emphasizing that Reynolds’ presence made for a memorable afternoon.
During the visit, Reynolds encouraged the young actors and even took photos with them, creating an uplifting atmosphere. The Staples Players will perform “Les Misérables” from November 13 to November 23, with tickets priced at $22.88.
This surprise appearance is part of Reynolds’ ongoing engagement with fans and local communities. He has been busy promoting his new documentary, “John Candy: I Like Me,” which he produced. Released on October 21, the film celebrates the life of the late comedian John Candy and includes interviews with many Hollywood legends.
