Sadie Sink Spider Man Marvel Casting News

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sadie Sink, best known for her role in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the highly anticipated fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise. The news was first reported by Deadline and confirmed by sources close to the production.

Sink, 22, will star alongside Tom Holland, who reprises his role as the iconic web-slinger Peter Parker. Specific details about Sink’s character remain undisclosed, although sources suggest that her role will be significant. Speculation indicates she may portray Jean Grey, a character previously played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner, according to Deadline.

No comments were available from Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures regarding Sink’s casting. The film’s plot has mostly been kept under wraps, but fans are eager to see how it continues from the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which grossed an impressive $1.9 billion globally.

In the previous film, Peter Parker makes a life-altering decision to erase his identity as Spider-Man from the world, impacting his relationships with characters like MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon). The resolutions from “No Way Home” suggest that the upcoming film may introduce new characters, potentially relegating original cast members to less prominent roles.

Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” will helm the fourth film, taking over from Jon Watts, who directed the first three Spider-Man films. Cretton is working from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Holland confirmed that filming for the new installment is set to begin later this year, following his current project with Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of “The Odyssey.” Release for the yet-to-be-titled Spider-Man 4 is scheduled for July 31, 2026.

Sink’s career has been rapidly ascending, having established herself in “Stranger Things,” which recently completed its final season. Additionally, she earned accolades for her role in Taylor Swift’s short film “All Too Well” and is set to appear in the upcoming musical “O'Dessa” and make her Broadway debut in “John Proctor Is the Villain” in April.

As the launch of Spider-Man 4 approaches, fans eagerly await further announcements regarding the plot and additional casting updates, especially around how Sink’s character integrates into the existing Marvel narrative.
