Sadie Sink Stars in New Musical Film O’Dessa Coming in March 2025

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sadie Sink, best known for her role as Max Mayfield in Netflix’s acclaimed series Stranger Things, is set to star in the upcoming musical film O’Dessa, which premieres on Hulu on March 20, 2025. The film, directed by Geremy Jasper, follows a farm girl named O’dessa as she embarks on a perilous journey to reclaim a stolen family heirloom.
In the movie, O’dessa travels to a mysterious land where she discovers true love and must confront destiny to save her partner’s soul. As Sink takes on this transformative role, audiences can expect a musical experience interwoven with themes of love and adventure.
Collider unveiled exclusive new images and a sneak peek, showcasing Sink in the studio recording music for the film. Geremy Jasper described one of the songs in the film, titled “Here Comes The Seventh Son,” stating, “It’s a haunted, swampy blues influenced by Nick Cave & PJ Harvey with lots of soundscape layers. The tune explodes into a thundering acid rock riff as O’dessa calls the powers of nature on her journey.”
The film features a notable cast including Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Euri Dervish, a haunted performer, and Murray Bartlett as Plutonovich, a character described as a plastic fascist autocrat. Regina Hall will portray Neon Dion, a warlord in the dystopian setting of Satylite City.
Before her breakout role in Stranger Things, Sink appeared in an episode of the police procedural series The Americans and played a young Lori in the coming-of-age drama The Glass Castle. She also starred in the 2016 boxing film Chuck, which featured actor Naomi Watts.
Since her rise to fame, Sink has successfully transitioned into film, recently collaborating with actors such as former Hulk star Mark Ruffalo in the horror film A Sacrifice, which has garnered a streaming deal.
O’Dessa, with a runtime of 106 minutes and rated PG-13, is one of several projects Sink has undertaken since her debut in Stranger Things. The film promises an engaging narrative combined with captivating music, affirming Sink’s increasing presence in the entertainment industry.
