Sainsbury's Festive Food Range 2024

In preparation for the 2024 holiday season, Sainsbury's has announced a new line-up of festive food offerings under its premium “Taste the Difference” range. Claire Hughes, Director of Product Innovation at Sainsbury’s, stated that the retailer is committed to delivering high-quality and innovative food items to suit all occasions. “At Sainsbury’s, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy great quality and innovative food at great value,” Hughes remarked. “Whether you’re looking for scrumptious party food, sensational centrepieces, indulgent sweet treats, or festive drinks, you’ll taste the difference in every mouthful.”

The newly introduced selection includes a variety of bakery and ready-to-eat items that cater to diverse dietary preferences, including vegan options. One of the highlights includes vegan-friendly Vietnamese bao buns, creatively designed in the shape of penguins and filled with char sui vegetables and a blend of king oyster, oyster, and shiitake mushrooms. These bao buns are set to be available from 13 November, priced at £6 for an eight-pack.

Offering a twist on the classic prawn cocktail, Sainsbury’s presents tail-on king prawns wrapped in a crisp dough, available from 13 November for £5.25 per eight-pack. Additionally, signature sourdough crumpets topped with rich thermidor sauce, garnished with lobster and Parmesan cheese, will be on shelves from 18 December for £4.50 per two-pack.

The range also features a plant-based showstopper centerpiece consisting of portobello, chestnut, and porcini mushroom filling encased in vegan puff pastry, available from 6 December. For those seeking a unique vegan galette, Sainsbury’s provides an option filled with harissa-roasted carrots and zesty vegan orange cream, also available from 6 December.

Sainsbury’s is extending festive flavors to its food-to-go items, including a veggie wrap filled with roasted butternut squash, feta, and mulled wine pickled cabbage, alongside a porchetta sandwich featuring cranberry stuffing and gravy mayonnaise, available from 28 October.

For dessert lovers, Sainsbury’s introduces a Belgian chocolate cheesecake, costing £14 and on offer from 20 December. Also available from this date is an intricate dessert crafted from Belgian blonde chocolate mousse and a ginger-spiced caramel center, priced at £15.

Further sweet offerings include a rippled Bûche de Noël featuring Belgian white chocolate mousse with a cherry compote center, serving up to 10 guests and priced at £20, available from 20 December.

Moreover, the range embraces the classic taste combination of chocolate and hazelnut across various offerings, including a panettone enriched with smooth chocolate and coated with dark chocolate, available from 9 October for £10.50. Other desserts, such as chocolate frangipane pies and hazelnut chocolate marzipan slices, are also presented, with availability varying by date.
