NEW YORK, NY — Salma Hayek, the 58-year-old actress, model, and producer, is making waves as one of the cover stars for the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The announcement was made on May 13, positioning Hayek alongside athletes Livvy Dunne and Jordan Chiles, as well as model Lauren Chan.

Hayek’s cover shoot, photographed by renowned artist Ruven Afanador, features her in striking jewel-toned bikinis that shimmer in the sunlight. Among the images is one of her kneeling in a pool wearing a dark green swimsuit, accentuated by a gold body chain and turquoise jewelry. Another captivating shot shows her standing on a rocky beach in a crochet-style top with matching yellow bikini bottoms.

MJ Day, editor-in-chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, emphasized the magazine’s mission to celebrate influential figures. “It’s about creating a platform to capture moments that define our times,” Day said. “Every woman featured brings a unique and powerful reason for being here.” Day described Hayek as “a force of nature” in her various roles in the entertainment industry.

Hayek expressed her excitement for her debut cover, acknowledging that she feels “liberated” to showcase her body in swimwear. She recently shared her fitness journey on social media, stating, “I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini.”

Aside from Hayek, other prominent figures featured in the issue include Dunne, Chiles, and Chan, who are all celebrated for their contributions to sports and fashion. Hayek has openly discussed her evolving perspective on aging, expressing confidence in her body and asserting that beauty transcends age.

“I just want my husband to still go, ‘Wow’ when he looks at me,” Hayek shared. She also declared that she cherishes looking good at 50 and 60, stating, “It’s a different kind of beauty.”

The 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will be available on newsstands starting May 17.
