San Marino House Fire January 2025

A San Marino doctor was found dead in her home after firefighters extinguished a blaze on Monday, January 6, 2025. The woman’s husband had taken their children to baseball practice and returned to find the house engulfed in flames, according to local reports.

Firefighters responded to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control. During their search of the property, they discovered the woman’s body. Authorities have not yet released her identity, pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain under investigation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the San Marino Fire Department are working together to determine whether foul play was involved. “At this time, we are treating this as a suspicious incident,” said Sheriff’s spokesperson Lt. John Smith. “We are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the facts.”

Neighbors expressed shock and sadness over the incident. “She was a wonderful person and a dedicated doctor,” said one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous. “This is a tragic loss for our community.”

The woman’s husband and children were unharmed and are currently staying with relatives. The family has requested privacy as they grieve.

This incident marks the second major fire in San Marino this year, raising concerns about fire safety in the area. Local officials have urged residents to ensure their smoke detectors are functioning and to have evacuation plans in place.
