San Marino to Host Clean Tifo Capital in 2027 Initiative

San Marino, San Marino – The Brigata Mai 1 Gioia and Panathlon Club of San Marino officially launched an ambitious project titled “San Marino Capitale del Tifo Pulito 2027” during a gathering at Ristorante Cesare. The initiative aims to make San Marino the first “Capital of Clean Tifo” in Europe by 2027.
Daniele Dei and Riccardo Mariotti, representatives of the Brigata, presented the project’s details to an audience of club members, guests, and institutional representatives. The Brigata, known for its ethical and creative support of the San Marino National Team, emphasizes a respectful approach to fan culture.
Claudio Muccioli, President of the Panathlon Club San Marino, welcomed attendees, while Abdullah Kabbani, a Saudi fan of San Marino’s team, joined via video to express his support. The Brigata, active since 2012, stands out for its colorful and enthusiastic support, free from violence and discriminatory chants.
The campaign seeks to organize an international conference in 2027, aiming to unite virtuous fan groups, sports journalists, and political institutions to promote positive fan practices. This event will include discussions, workshops, and activities open to the public, with a central focus on creating a “European Clean Tifo Manifesto” to present to UEFA and FIFA.
To collaborate effectively, the Brigata invites all San Marino institutions to join in creating this vision. They are particularly seeking partnerships with the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the San Marino Football Federation (FSGC), the San Marino National Olympic Committee (CONS), and many others.
The anticipated signing of a memorandum of understanding among these groups would initiate the formation of a scientific committee to guide event organization. Enhancing legitimacy and synergy among sports entities and civil society is a primary goal.
The 2027 target year commemorates the 15th anniversary of the Brigata Mai 1 Gioia, providing a realistic timeline for planning and international collaboration. Current partnerships with the European Fans’ Federation (FSE) and collaborations with fan groups from Gibraltar, Liechtenstein, and Malta show strong interest in the event.
The “San Marino Capitale del Tifo Pulito 2027” initiative serves not only as a conference but also as a cultural and political opportunity to enhance the Republic’s global image, attract tourism, and promote ethical engagement in sports.
Integrating schools into the project aims to raise awareness among students and families about positive fan participation. The project also includes elements of sports collecting, volunteering, and para-sports to emphasize inclusivity.
The Brigata Mai 1 Gioia calls on San Marino institutions to recognize and embrace this opportunity to bring tangible benefits to the Republic through ethical and joyful sportsmanship.
