Renowned for her comedic performances in “Miranda,” Sarah Hadland has returned to the limelight as a contestant on this year’s “Strictly Come Dancing,” partnered with professional dancer Vito Coppola. Coppola, who clinched the Glitterball trophy last year, brings his expertise to guide Hadland through the rigors of the competition.

When asked about her pairing with Coppola, Hadland expressed enthusiasm, stating, “That’s an understatement! The minute I started dancing with Vito, I was like, ‘It’s got to be him.'” Coppola echoed her sentiments, noting the immediate chemistry he felt during their initial meeting and highlighting their shared energetic approach.

The pair have bonded over a mutual love for animals and food, with Hadland even joking about dressing her cat, Percy, in their weekly costumes to join in the show spirit. Hadland revealed, “I’m obsessed. My cat Percy… is going to wear a version of our costume every week.” The duo has humorously entertained the idea of incorporating animals into their routines, with Hadland imagining leading a “lamb or a piglet.”

Coppola has taken on the role of bringing themed meals that align with their dance styles to rehearsals, with the two dubbing themselves “Team Tiramisu” after the Italian dessert. “The word ‘tiramisu’ in Italian means ‘pick me up’. We are Team Tiramisu!” Coppola explained, relating it to their energetic nature.

Hadland, visibly moved by the “Strictly” experience, described her first encounter with her costume as transformative. She mentioned being overwhelmed by the beauty of the attire, crafted under the expertise of Vicky Gill, and praised other team members like Lisa Armstrong and Lisa Davey for their roles in her transformation.

“Strictly Come Dancing” continues to draw viewers, and Vito Coppola’s participation has continued to captivate audiences. Hadland’s previous health scare, involving an anaphylactic shock from a fish allergy in 2010, made headlines after she shared her terrifying experience with the Daily Express. She now frequently carries an adrenaline pen for safety.

The show airs every Saturday night at 7 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, promising a blend of raw talent, choreographed artistry, and compelling personal stories from its contestants.
