Secrecy Surrounds GOP Billionaire Plot to Extend MAGA Legacy

Maga Movement Leaders And Trump Context

Rockbridge, Ohio – A group of influential GOP business leaders and celebrities has convened to strategize on how to sustain the MAGA movement beyond Donald Trump’s presidency. The meeting took place in 2019 and was spearheaded by venture capitalist Chris Buskirk, with notable attendees including billionaire Peter Thiel, hedge fund manager Rebekah Mercer, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Documents obtained from the meeting reveal that the attendees established the ‘Rockbridge Network,’ aimed at shaping American policies through the influence of wealthy business leaders. The network has reportedly identified Vice President JD Vance, 41, as their preferred candidate to succeed Trump. The group aspires to win elections with over 55% of the popular vote in future contests, including the upcoming 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race.

The strategy includes building a conservative media ecosystem and finding legal leverage points to hold media and other ‘bad actors’ accountable. A document circulated within the network highlights their approach: ‘Through Strategic Litigation, we will identify leverage points where the law allows us to hold bad actors accountable.’

Buskirk, 56, who runs venture capital firm 1789 Capital, emphasizes a concept he calls ‘patriotic capitalism.’ This involves drawing in wealthy GOP-aligned donors to secure influence in elections. Recently, he launched ‘Executive Branch,’ a $500,000 membership club catering to affluent Republicans who wish to network with political figures.

While the group’s ambitions focus on the long-term viability of MAGA, critics argue it represents an effort by elite billionaires to enrich themselves. Michael Strain of the American Enterprise Institute voiced skepticism about how the Rockbridge Network’s plans could benefit average Americans.

As the movement gains momentum, the implications for the GOP and its relationship with the broader electorate remain uncertain. The Daily Beast has reached out to Vance and other members for comments on these developments.
