Shakira Returns as Gazelle in Zootopia 2 Music Video

Los Angeles, CA – Shakira is set to return as pop star Gazelle in Disney’s upcoming film Zootopia 2. The colorful music video for her original song, “Zoo,” premiered on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The three-minute clip features the Colombian hitmaker showcasing multiple Gazelle-inspired looks. Accompanying her are beloved animated characters such as Judy Hopps, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, voiced by Jason Bateman. Other characters featured include Gary De’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, and Nibbles Maplestick, voiced by Fortune Feimster.

The music video seamlessly blends Shakira’s live performance with animated footage from the film. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video takes viewers through various settings from Zootopia, including the Zootenial Gala, celebrating the city’s 100th anniversary, and a thrilling scene featuring a steep cliffside where Shakira climbs alongside Judy and Nick.

<p“Zoo,” co-written by Blake Slatkin and Shakira, was released in October. It follows Shakira's previous Zootopia hit, “Try Everything,” from 2016. Fans will also have the chance to purchase the song as a collectible 7-inch purple vinyl single.

Zootopia 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Earlier this month, Shakira was honored with the inaugural Billboard Global Touring Icon Award for her successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, noted as the highest-grossing Latin tour ever by a woman.

In her acceptance speech, Shakira expressed enthusiasm, stating, “It’s encouraging and inspiring. It’s incredible and motivating at the same time, I feel like I’m just starting my career, and it’s crazy because it’s been 30 years.”

Shakira’s return and the anticipation surrounding Zootopia 2 adds to the excitement building among fans leading up to the film’s release.
