PARSIPPANY, New Jersey — A sinkhole caused significant traffic disruptions on Interstate 287 northbound in Parsippany-Troy Hills, resulting in the closure of two left lanes as of 4:15 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) confirmed the incident occurred just north of Exit 41B.

Local driver Sarah Jenkins, who was caught in the traffic, described the scene. “It was completely unexpected. We were just driving and suddenly came to a halt,” she said. “I hope they can fix it quickly.”
