Alex Reese Philadelphia 76ers Player Signing

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Alex Reese to a two-way contract as they continue to reshape their roster following the trade deadline. This move bolsters their lineup after recent promotions and acquisitions.

Reese joins the Sixers after a challenging stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he played just one game this season. During his brief appearance against the Atlanta Hawks in October, he scored two points. However, Reese has found greater success in the G League, playing for the Rip City Remix. He averaged 19 points and seven rebounds over 16 games this season, showcasing his ability as a scorer and rebounder.

According to reports by ESPN‘s Shams Charania, the Sixers filled their open two-way contract slot with Reese after the team converted contracts for other players, creating available positions. Reese, who is 25 years old and stands 6-foot-9, 245 pounds, provides depth for the 76ers as they make strategic changes to their lineup.

In his time with the Rip City Remix, Reese has demonstrated high efficiency from beyond the arc, attempting an average of 9.1 three-pointers per game and hitting 42.1% of his shots. His overall statistics in the G League include an average of 19.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

The two-way contract allows Reese to split time between the Sixers and their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Currently, the Blue Coats are struggling, sitting near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with limited margins for error in their remaining games to secure a playoff berth. They previously won the G League finals in the 2022-23 season.

Before turning professional, Reese played four seasons at Alabama and had a brief stint in Luxembourg before joining the NBA. As he adjusts to his new role with the Sixers, fans are eager to see how he can contribute to both teams moving forward.
