Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia Set for Late December Concerts in SF
San Francisco, CA – Mayor Daniel Lurie announced a lineup of winter concerts slated for late December, featuring popular artists Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia. These events will take place in venues that typically host corporate events, aiming to bring festive excitement to the city from December 19 to 30.
“We had the summer of music, and now we have the winter of music coming to San Francisco,” Lurie said in an Instagram post. Although skeptics argue about the summer’s success, the upcoming performances promise to showcase renowned acts.
The concerts will include two nights with Fisher and supporting acts Chris Lorenzo and Partiboi69 at the Moscone Center on December 19 and 20. Traditionally a corporate venue, this concert could offer a unique atmosphere for attendees. Skrillex and Four Tet are set to perform on December 30, while Swedish House Mafia will take the stage for a New Year’s Eve show the following night, both at Pier 80.
These events are produced by Goldenvoice, known for organizing major festivals like Coachella. Ticket sales begin November 7 at 10 a.m. PT, with prices reflecting standard concert rates.
Interestingly, the venue choices suggest a fresh approach to concert locations in San Francisco. The Moscone Center and Pier 80 might attract visitors and boost business for nearby hotels and restaurants, especially since December is typically less active for large-scale events.
As winter approaches, San Francisco is gearing up for these unique concerts, with hopes they may set a precedent for future winter shows in non-traditional venues. Concertgoers are anxiously awaiting ticket availability for what promises to be an exciting finish to the year in music.
