MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Forward Smith is not listed on the injury report heading into the Milwaukee Bucks‘ regular-season finale against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. After missing the last two games due to a right ankle sprain, he appears ready to return to the court.

Smith’s recovery comes at a crucial time for the Bucks, who have secured the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. As a result, the team plans to rest several rotational players in preparation for the postseason, opening the door for Smith to potentially see significant playing time.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed that the team will limit minutes for some starters, saying, “It’s been a long season, and we want to ensure our key players are fresh for the playoffs.” With this strategy in play, Smith is expected to take on a larger role than he has for much of the season.

This will be Smith’s first appearance since April 5, when he sustained the ankle injury during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He had been averaging 12 points and five rebounds per game prior to his injury.

“I’m just excited to be back,” Smith said. “I’ve been working hard on my rehab, and I feel ready to contribute. It’s important to build momentum heading into the playoffs.”

Fans eagerly await Smith’s performance as the Bucks aim to fine-tune their strategy before launching into postseason play.
