Snow Squall Warning in Effect for London, Ontario Region
A snow squall warning remains in effect for the London, Ontario region, urging residents to exercise extra caution while venturing out. The warning, issued by Environment Canada, states that snow squalls originating from Lake Huron will continue throughout Saturday, potentially resulting in additional snowfall accumulations of 5 to 15 cm, with some areas experiencing even higher amounts. The intense snowfall might lead to significantly reduced visibility and hazardous road conditions.
As the squalls are expected to diminish and transition into flurries by Sunday morning, the greatest snowfall accumulation is projected to occur north of Highway 402 and northwest of the City of London toward the Lake Huron shoreline. This warning also includes the London-Middlesex, Sarnia-Lambton, Grey-Bruce, and Huron Perth regions.
Motorists are advised to expect perilous travel conditions due to reduced visibility and rapidly accumulating snow in certain areas. If driving in such conditions, it is crucial to slow down, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and be prepared to stop if necessary.
