San Mateo, California – Sony has officially announced the new Icon Blue Special Edition DualSense wireless controller for the PlayStation 5, scheduled for release on October 20 in the U.S. and Canada and October 28 in Mexico and Chile.

The controller features shades of blue inspired by the original PlayStation console and includes a special Japanese Katakana engraving on the back, reading ‘Pureisutēshon.’ Leo Cardoso from Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish design team explained the inspiration, saying, ‘From the moment the console powers on and the DualSense controller lights up, that signature blue glow signals the start of something special.’

This edition retains all of the beloved features of the DualSense, such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone. The suggested retail price is $84.99 USD, $109.99 CAD, $1,899 MXN, and $93,490 CLP. It will be available for purchase at Walmart locations and on Walmart’s official site.

Along with the controller, Sony announced other collectible items celebrating PlayStation’s history. These include an Astro Bot lunch box that features a lenticular face, Twisted Metal-inspired Meltz figures, a PlayStation jersey, and a mini backpack modeled after Ellie’s from The Last of Us.

Fans looking for unique DualSense designs are in luck, as various recently released or upcoming controllers inspired by popular PlayStation games are also available, including limited editions for Astro Bot and Ghost of Tsushima.
