Sounders Aim to Snap Streak Against FC Dallas This Saturday

FRISCO, Texas — The Seattle Sounders will seek to end a four-game winless streak when they face FC Dallas on Saturday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. CT) at Toyota Stadium. Historically, Dallas has proven a challenging venue for the Sounders, who have a record of 1-9-5 in their last 15 visits across all competitions.
This matchup carries additional significance, as Jesús Ferreira will compete against his childhood club for the first time, while Léo Chú faces the Sounders for the first time, having recently joined the team.
Injuries have impacted both teams heavily. Seattle will miss forwards Paul Arriola (knee), Jordan Morris (hamstring), and Pedro de la Vega. Additionally, Alex Roldan (quad) and Albert Rusnák (adductor) are uncertain for Saturday’s match. Dallas will be without Marco Farfan (legs), Geovane Jesus (knee), Sebastian Lletget (upper leg), and Paxton Pomykal (knee).
Dallas enters the match on a high note, riding a three-game unbeaten streak. The team earned victories over Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City to end March and managed a tie against Atlanta United to begin April. They currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference with 11 points, while Seattle is 12th with six points, having only one win in their first seven matches.
FC Dallas forward Petar Musa has emerged as a standout performer this season, ranking third in Major League Soccer for goals and assists combined, with six each. Musa has been involved in nine of Dallas’ 10 goals this season and looks to continue his impressive form against the Sounders. His previous match against Seattle resulted in a crucial goal during their last meeting in June 2024.
Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer noted the need for his team to convert possession into scoring opportunities. “We need to turn our possession into high-quality chances,” he said. The addition of English winger Ryan Kent could offer Seattle a boost as he is expected to make his MLS debut this weekend, further strengthening their attack.
Saturday’s clash marks the first of two regular-season meetings between the sides this year. The previous encounter ended with a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Sounders at Lumen Field, where they overcame a 2-0 deficit to secure the points.
Fans can watch the match on MLS Season Pass and listen to live coverage on 950 KJR AM and El Rey 1360 AM. The finding of form could be pivotal for Seattle as they aim to advance their standings in the tight Western Conference.
