Stanford Basketball Aims for Fifth Straight Win Against Seattle
Palo Alto, California — Stanford men’s basketball concludes its five-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 21, with a matchup against Seattle. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinal enters the game with an unblemished record of 4-0, having achieved victories in three Big Sky Conference games against Portland State, Montana, and Montana State, along with a win over Louisiana. The team boasts an impressive average margin of victory of 17.2 points per game.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Kyle Smith, Stanford is celebrating its most successful season start since 2014-15. Smith, who was named the 2024 Pac-12 Coach of the Year, led the team to 21 wins last season, tying a program record with 17 victories on home court.
The 2025-26 season marks Stanford’s second year competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) after finishing seventh in their inaugural season. The Cardinal’s recent games include a dominating 93-66 victory over Louisiana, where standout player Ebuka Okorie led the scoring with 26 points, showcasing a strong performance with three 3-pointers and 11 successful free throws.
Okorie’s impressive average of 25.5 points per game ranks him third nationally and first among freshmen. He is on the cusp of making history; should he secure another 20-point game against Seattle, he will be the first Stanford freshman to accomplish five consecutive 20-point games.
Defensively, Stanford is also performing well, ranking first in the ACC in defensive rebounds and turnovers forced per game. The team has gained recognition by receiving votes in the AP poll for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
As Stanford prepares for Seattle, the team hopes to extend its unbeaten streak and solidify its standing in the ACC.
