5-Star QB Jared Curtis Set to Announce Commitment Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, ranked as the nation’s top QB prospect for the class of 2026, is poised to announce his commitment on May 5. The standout from Nashville Christian School has narrowed his choices to Georgia and Oregon.
As May 5 approaches, excitement builds around Curtis’s decision. Representatives for the young athlete have created two announcement videos, one for each program, suggesting the outcome is still uncertain and tightly contested.
His choice will be revealed during a press conference at his school and shared on social media, adding to the anticipation surrounding his commitment. Curtis’s decision is seen as a pivotal moment for the recruiting efforts of both teams.
Curtis has maintained that he and his family are not prioritizing financial incentives, an aspect intertwined with the current NIL environment. “He loves ball, loves his family, and just wants to go to a school where he can thrive,” said his agent, Peter Webb. “It’s been lost in the NIL world that this is about more than just money.”
Webb asserted that many competing programs offered higher financial packages than Georgia and Oregon. Yet Curtis’s commitment will not hinge solely on financials. His focus remains on the relationships developed throughout the recruitment process, the quality of education, and the chance to become a better player.
On the field, Curtis has demonstrated resilience and talent. He led his team to a state championship appearance in 2022 and significantly improved his stats in his junior year, throwing for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns while maintaining a 70% completion rate.
“He’s a very complete player who can throw and run. He’s also very mature for his age,” said Webb. As the date nears for his announcement, both Georgia and Oregon are making final efforts to convince him of their respective merits.
If he chooses Georgia, Curtis will be the highest-rated QB signee since Justin Fields in 2018, while a commitment to Oregon would symbolize a shift in the Ducks’ ongoing recruitment strategy. All eyes will be on Curtis on May 5 at 5:30 PM EST, when he shares his future plans.
