Stephen Curry And Sabrina Ionescu To Face Off In 3 Point Contest At Nba All Star Weekend

Get ready for an epic showdown at NBA All-Star weekend as two basketball titans, Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, will go head-to-head in a 3-point contest. This highly anticipated matchup, officially named “Stephen vs. Sabrina,” will take place during All-Star Saturday Night on February 17 in Indianapolis.

The stage was set for this showdown months in advance. During a recent game between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, Curry was captured on a microphone discussing the incredible 3-point shooting skills of Ionescu with his teammate Brandin Podziemski. Ionescu, the New York Liberty player, had wowed the basketball world with her near-perfect 37-point performance in the WNBA’s 3-point contest last summer, surpassing Curry’s NBA record of 31 points.

Fueled by the competitive spirit, Curry expressed his desire to challenge Ionescu and prove his skills on the court. In response, Ionescu took to social media and gladly accepted the challenge, setting the stage for this exciting contest.

The rules of the contest are as follows: Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line with NBA basketballs, while Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA basketballs. Not only will bragging rights be at stake, but both players will also have the opportunity to raise funds for charity. Curry’s Eat.Learn.Play. nonprofit and Ionescu’s SI20 Foundation will receive donations from the NBA and WNBA, respectively. Additionally, every shot made by Curry and Ionescu will generate donations from State Farm to the NBA Foundation, supporting economic empowerment in the Black community.

Curry, known for his exceptional 3-point shooting skills, holds four of the top five single-season 3-point make records in NBA history. His remarkable record of 402 made 3-pointers was achieved during the 2015-16 season. Similarly, Ionescu led the WNBA in 3-pointers made last season with 128 shots, boasting an impressive shooting percentage of nearly 45% from beyond the arc.

The highly-anticipated competition between Curry and Ionescu has generated immense excitement among basketball fans. Both players, recognized as masters of the long-range shot, will undoubtedly deliver a thrilling display of skill and precision.
