Stranahan High School Lockdown After Reported Threat

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Stranahan High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after a threat was reported to a school resource officer, according to local police.
Officers from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to the school, located at 1800 SW Fifth Place, around 11:45 a.m. The police confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing.
Authorities emphasized that the lockdown was enacted as a precautionary measure. “The threat came into law enforcement. School is on lockdown as a precaution. Currently, no weapons found,” said John Sullivan, the school district spokesman.
Officials with Broward County Public Schools confirmed the lockdown but did not provide additional information regarding the nature of the threat. Aerial footage captured a significant law enforcement presence outside the school.
