Strong Storm System Approaches Las Vegas This Weekend

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) – A strong storm system is expected to hit Las Vegas this weekend, bringing significant changes to the weather pattern. After a warm Friday with high temperatures reaching nearly 90 degrees, residents should prepare for wind and rain beginning Saturday.
The National Weather Service has declared Saturday as the start of the First Alert Weather Days due to a cold storm arriving in the area. Wind gusts are projected to exceed 40 mph, accompanied by scattered showers that may develop late in the day.
As the storm settles over the region on Sunday, forecasters predict the highest chances for rain will occur Sunday and Monday. Alongside the rainfall, temperatures will sharply drop; the high on Sunday is forecast at 70 degrees, falling to just 63 degrees for Monday.
“We’re really looking at a dramatic change from the warm temperatures we’ve had during the week,” said a spokesperson for the weather service. “Monday will likely be the coolest day, with lingering showers possible into Tuesday.”
Conditions are expected to improve by midweek, with temperatures gradually rebounding. After this weekend’s cold front, the weather should become more stable.
Residents are advised to stay updated with local forecasts and prepare for challenging weather conditions as the storm approaches.
