Suns’ Mark Williams to Debut as Grayson Allen Joins Starting Lineup
PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Phoenix Suns are set to open their 2025-26 NBA season against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. Center Mark Williams will come off the bench, while guard Grayson Allen has made the starting five after overcoming left hip soreness.
The complete starting lineup for the Suns includes Devin Booker, Allen, Dillon Brooks, Ryan Dunn, and Oso Ighodaro. This configuration highlights the team’s strategy as they prepare for the season.
Williams, acquired during the 2025 draft from Charlotte, did not receive a rookie contract extension on Monday, but team owner Mat Ishbia spoke highly of him, emphasizing the team’s long-term commitment. “We didn’t trade for Mark to have him for one year. Let’s make that very clear,” Ishbia said.
Allen was initially listed as probable before being upgraded to available for the game against the Kings. He struggled with hip issues, but he is now expected to contribute significantly.
On the Kings side, star player Domantas Sabonis is sidelined with a hamstring injury. The Kings will start Dennis Schroder, Zach LaVine, Nique Clifford, DeMar DeRozan, and former Sun Drew Eubanks in his absence.
The Suns-Kings matchup will tip off at 7 p.m. and can be heard on 98.7 FM and the Arizona Sports app.
