NEW ORLEANS, La. — The NFL playoffs are in full swing, and the road to Super Bowl 59 is heating up. Eight teams remain in contention for the Lombardi Trophy, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox, continuing the league’s tradition of hosting the Super Bowl on the second Sunday in February since expanding to a 17-game regular season.

Fox will broadcast the game, with its top crew of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen on the call. Pregame coverage is expected to begin hours before kickoff, potentially rivaling the network’s record-breaking five-hour pregame show for Super Bowl 57 in 2023. Fans can stream the game via the Fox Sports app or with a subscription to NFL+.

This marks the eighth time New Orleans’ Superdome will host the Super Bowl, the most of any NFL stadium. The venue was originally slated to host Super Bowl 58, but scheduling conflicts with Mardi Gras led the NFL to move that game to Las Vegas and push New Orleans’ hosting duties to 2025. The Superdome last hosted the championship in 2013 during Super Bowl 47, famously known as the “Harbaugh Bowl,” where the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.

This year, the Ravens are once again in the playoff mix, led by star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile, hip-hop superstar Lamar has been announced as the halftime performer for Super Bowl 59. The announcement was made on Sept. 8, 2024, coinciding with the NFL’s opening Sunday slate. Lamar previously performed during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent, though it remains unclear whether he will perform solo or with guests this time.

As the divisional round approaches, eight teams remain in contention for the championship. The AFC and NFC title games on Jan. 26 will determine the final four teams vying for a spot in Super Bowl 59. With the stakes higher than ever, football fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 NFL season.
