Tarheeb Still’s Historic Pick-Six Leads Chargers to 17-10 Lead Over Falcons
In a thrilling matchup on Sunday, December 1, 2024, Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Tarheeb Still made history with a pivotal play against the Atlanta Falcons. Still intercepted a pass from Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins for the second time in the game, this time returning it 61 yards to the end zone for a pick-six. This interception gave the Chargers a 17-10 lead late in the third quarter.
The pick-six was a crucial moment in the game, as the Chargers’ offense had yet to score a touchdown. Still’s interception came on a fourth-and-5 play from the Los Angeles 40-yard line, where Cousins was targeting receiver Darnell Mooney. However, the pass was late, allowing Still to intercept and return it untouched to the end zone.
This was the first pick-six of Still’s career, marking a significant milestone for the fifth-round rookie out of the University of Maryland. For Kirk Cousins, it was his 15th career pick-six thrown.
Following the pick-six, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed a pass to Joshua Palmer for a successful two-point conversion, solidifying the Chargers’ lead. The Falcons had briefly taken the lead earlier in the third quarter with a 41-yard field goal by Younghoe Koo.
