Tems Born In The Wild Tour 2024

KIGALI, Rwanda — Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has canceled her Born in the Wild tour stop in Kigali, Rwanda, originally scheduled for March 22, 2025, citing concerns over the ongoing conflict between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The artist announced the decision on X (formerly Twitter), apologizing for promoting the show without being aware of the geopolitical tensions. “I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realizing that there is ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo,” Tems wrote. “I never ever intend to be insensitive to real-world issues, and I sincerely apologize if this came across that way.”

The Kigali concert was part of Tems’ global tour in support of her 2024 debut album, “Born in the Wild.” Over the past year, she has performed in major cities worldwide, including London, Paris, Oslo, Berlin, New York, Toronto, and Sydney.

In her statement, Tems expressed empathy for those affected by the conflict. “My heart goes out to those affected. Conflict is no joke, and I truly hope and pray for peace in this time,” she added.

The cancellation comes amid heightened tensions between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with reports of military clashes and humanitarian concerns in the region. Tems’ decision has been met with mixed reactions, with some fans praising her sensitivity to global issues, while others expressed disappointment over the canceled show.

No rescheduled date for the Kigali concert has been announced. Tems’ tour continues with upcoming stops in Europe and North America.
