Tennessee Baseball Vs Miami Ohio

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The NCAA Tournament game between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Miami Redhawks has been delayed due to lightning in the area. Originally scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT on Friday, the game is now set to begin at 7:06 p.m. EDT.

The contest, part of the Knoxville Regional, will be televised on ESPNU and streamed on ESPN+. Earlier in the day, third-seeded Cincinnati defeated second-seeded Wake Forest, setting the stage for an elimination game on Saturday.

The Knoxville Regional also includes Wake Forest and Cincinnati alongside Tennessee and Miami. The winner of this regional will face the winner of the Fayetteville Regional, hosted by Arkansas, in the super regional round.

Tennessee is no stranger to hosting regionals, doing so for the fourth time in the last five years. The Vols have advanced to the super regional round each of the last five seasons. In 2023, they secured a road victory in the Clemson Regional, and since 2020, Tennessee is undefeated at 12-0 in regional play.

The super regionals are scheduled for June 6-9, followed by the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 13-23. Tennessee baseball has garnered national attention as a 14th seed in the tournament, with hopes of advancing further.
