Terry Bradshaw to Speak at Salvation Army’s Annual Restoration Celebration

ODESSA, Texas — The Midland Odessa Salvation Army will host its annual Restoration Celebration dinner featuring former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw as the guest speaker on May 8 at the Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
Captain Robert Coriston, commander of the Midland Odessa Salvation Army, expressed excitement about the dinner’s new venue, which previously took place at the Midland Country Club. “To be at the Odessa Marriott, we know that we kind of get a bigger name speaker,” Coriston said. “We know there’s going to be some learning curves through all that, but so far it looks like it’s going to be a great event.”
The dinner aims to draw support from both Midland and Odessa communities following their offices’ merger last year. Organizers are currently working to fill up their goal of 45 tables and have secured 32 so far. Coriston noted that new sponsors have emerged as well. “We’ve had a bit more support this year,” he said. “Overall, we’re pleased, and we’re pleased at the amount of new people that will be coming through the door to kind of see what we do.”
Coriston also acknowledged that the inclusion of Bradshaw is expected to attract a larger audience. “It’s the stuff we count on because the names like Terry’s at least get people in the door,” he said. “If we can get them in the door to meet Terry, then we get to share the story of what the Salvation Army is doing in Odessa.”
Individual tickets for the dinner are priced at $150, and sponsorship packages range from $2,500 to $25,000. Those interested in attending can reserve tickets and sponsorships online or by calling 432-653-9951.
The event schedule includes a VIP reception at 5:45 p.m., a silent auction preview from 6:15 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner and live auction at 7 p.m. Coriston hopes that the evening will help further the Salvation Army’s mission in Odessa, stating, “We’re the only emergency homeless shelter in Odessa. We’re willing to fight for the housing of the unhoused.”
