Terry Rozier Remains Positive Despite Reduced Role with Miami Heat

MIAMI, Fla. — Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is staying positive amid a challenging season as his team heads into the playoffs. Rozier, who previously made significant contributions as a starting point guard, has seen his role diminish throughout the 2024-25 season.
After helping the team secure a playoff spot, Rozier now faces a situation where he has been moved to the bench, culminating in his last game on April 13, where he scored just 2 points on 1-of-9 shooting in 34 minutes. This performance marked a turning point, leading to his absence from the team’s rotation.
“I’m the type of guy that I don’t carry bad energy,” Rozier said in a recent interview, emphasizing his commitment to supporting his teammates, regardless of his personal situation. “I just feel like if you waste energy with that; it’s not going to change nothing.”
Despite his reduced playing time, Rozier expressed pride in his teammates’ performances, specifically highlighting the successes of his fellow guards. “Davion didn’t do nothing to me. He’s playing very well. So I’m just happy to see his success,” he added.
Rozier, 31, remains hopeful about his future, whether it involves continuing with the Heat or pursuing opportunities elsewhere. “You’ve just got to be optimistic with it. And I’m just a positive guy,” he noted. “I just love to see that if I’m not playing, we still got into the playoffs and hopefully we can do something special.”
As the Heat prepare for their first playoff series, Rozier’s focus remains on supporting the team and finding ways to contribute, showing resilience in the face of adversity.
