Tesla Model 3 Green Ncap Test Results 2024

DETROIT — Tesla‘s Model 3 has achieved a groundbreaking 98% average score and a 5-star rating in the Green NCAP test, an independent analysis aimed at promoting cleaner and more energy-efficient vehicles. The 2024 Model 3 RWD variant surpassed its own 2022 benchmarks, setting a new standard in the automotive industry.

Green NCAP’s comprehensive testing included evaluations for Clean Air Index, Greenhouse Gas Index, and Energy Efficiency Index. The Model 3 scored between 9.7 and 10.0 across these categories, with a perfect 10 on the Clean Air Index. The only area where it did not excel was the Cold Ambient Test for the Greenhouse Gas Index, where it was rated as “adequate.”

“The new Model 3 achieves record-low energy consumption figures in Green NCAP test, earning it a 5-star rating with an average score of 98%,” stated Tesla Europe in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter).

This achievement comes as Tesla continues to dominate the EV market, despite increasing competition. According to Motor Intelligence, Tesla’s market share in the U.S. EV market dropped to about 49% in 2024 from 55% in 2023, but the Model Y and Model 3 remained the best-selling EVs.

Other automakers like Hyundai, Kia, and Ford are also making significant strides in the EV market, contributing to the overall decline in internal combustion engine vehicle sales, which fell below 80% for the first time in modern automotive history.

As the EV market grows, dependability and efficiency remain key factors for consumers. The Model 3’s record-breaking scores highlight the reliability of EVs, potentially swaying more consumers to make the switch.

With the 2025 Model 3 now available in North America, Tesla aims to continue its leadership in energy efficiency and clean transportation. Cox Automotive projects that 2025 will set another record for EV volume, with electrified vehicles expected to make up one out of every four new vehicle sales.
