Texas Elections Voter Turnout

AUSTIN, TexasTravis County officials reported that 13 percent of registered voters cast their ballots during the election that concluded on Friday, Nov. 4, 2025. Voters had the opportunity to weigh in on several key issues, including 17 proposed amendments to the Texas constitution.

Besides voting, Central Texas residents also juggled errands and daily tasks. Many were curious about what services and businesses would remain open on Election Day.

Unlike federal holidays, Election Day does not mean that banks will close their doors, and they will generally operate as usual. U.S. post offices are also slated to remain open on Tuesday, ensuring that mail delivery continues uninterrupted.

Shipping companies, including UPS and FedEx, confirmed that all operations, including pickups and deliveries, would proceed normally on Election Day.

In terms of education, Austin Independent School District students will not have classes on Tuesday, as it is designated a staff development day. Parents are advised to check with their child’s school for updates, as other school districts may have different schedules.

As the day progresses, residents and officials anticipate finalizing the election results and preparing for the next steps in the political process.
