Bulls College Prep Chicago Shooting Scene

CHICAGO – Three teenagers were shot near Bulls College Prep High School on Chicago‘s Near West Side Friday afternoon. The Chicago Police Department reported the incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in the 200 block of South Hoyne Avenue.

The victims included a 16-year-old boy, identified as Cameron King, a 15-year-old girl, and another 15-year-old boy. King sustained a serious injury when he was shot in the lower back and was taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment. The other two victims were shot in their legs but are in good condition; the girl was injured in the left leg and the boy in the right leg, the latter managing to self-transport to the hospital.

A school spokesperson confirmed the students were indeed enrolled at Bulls College Prep and expressed heartbreak over the incident. ‘The shooting occurred off-campus, over an hour after dismissal today,’ the statement read. The school stated it is maintaining close contact with the victims’ families and is providing support during this difficult time.

Letrina Flowers, the mother of Cameron King, shared her anguish over the incident. ‘My first thoughts were, where are you all? I’m on my way. Grabbed my phone, get in my car, and I’m just driving, like, let me figure out where I’m going, and I prayed that my son was okay,’ she said. Following the shooting, King reportedly fled the scene before collapsing nearby.

The police have not released any information about potential suspects. As of now, no one is in custody, and the Area Three detectives continue to investigate. Updates will be provided as the investigation advances.
