Timberwolves Vs Rockets Nba Game February 2025

HOUSTON, Texas — The Minnesota Timberwolves will receive a boost in their lineup as guards Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley are set to play in Friday night’s game against the Houston Rockets. However, center Rudy Gobert has been ruled out due to ongoing back spasms, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch announced before the game.

Edwards, who is dealing with hip soreness, previously sat out the All-Star Game. Conley returns after missing four games due to a dislocated finger. Gobert’s absence marks his second game in a row, as he was also sidelined during the Timberwolves’ last matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 13.

Finch expressed optimism about Edwards and Conley participating in the game despite their injuries. “All three were able to practice largely to full capacity,” Finch stated, mentioning the positive strides made by the players ahead of the game.

The Timberwolves, currently sitting at 31-25 and battling for playoff positioning, will aim to avoid the play-in tournament as they face an equally challenged Rockets team, which has ruled out several players, including guard Fred VanVleet due to an ankle injury.

With Gobert and other key players like Julius Randle (groin) and Donte DiVincenzo (toe) still out of the lineup, Minnesota will rely heavily on the performances of its younger players. Finch noted, “Their effort, their confidence, they’re playing with a lot of swagger, a lot of belief.” The coach emphasized the importance of maintaining simple game plans for the developing players.

The Rockets have struggled in recent games, losing seven of their last nine before the All-Star break. Despite this, they have shown flashes of defensive prowess, ranking as one of the top defenses in the league.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CST at the Toyota Center in Houston.
