Timberwolves Warriors Playoff Basketball Game

Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the Western Conference playoffs on Thursday night. The Timberwolves lost Game 1 but aim to level the series at their home court.

Golden State will be without star guard Stephen Curry, who is sidelined for at least a week due to a hamstring injury sustained during Tuesday’s game. Despite his absence, the Warriors managed to win Game 1, defeating the Timberwolves 111-100.

The Timberwolves struggled offensively in Game 1, shooting only 17.2% from three-point range, making just 5 of 29 attempts. However, they have historically performed better at home, shooting 38.1% from beyond the arc during the regular season.

Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels, who scored 19 points in Game 1, is expected to play a crucial role again. Head coach Chris Finch noted, “We need McDaniels to step up and lead the offense, especially with Curry out.”

For Minnesota, guard Anthony Edwards has averaged 26.8 points so far in the playoffs and is looking to build on his strong performances. He expressed confidence, saying, “We just have to focus on our defense to get the win tonight.”

The game will tip-off at 9:30 p.m. ET from the Target Center. Minnesota is currently favored by 10.5 points according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with an over/under set at 201.5 points. A successful performance tonight could shift momentum back to the Timberwolves.
