Tom Cruise’s ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Coming to Hulu June 1

LOS ANGELES, CA – The sci-fi action film ‘Edge of Tomorrow,’ featuring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, is set to stream on Hulu starting June 1. This movie has garnered a reputation as one of Cruise’s most underrated roles.
In ‘Edge of Tomorrow,’ Cruise plays Major William Cage, a military officer unaccustomed to combat. When an alien race launches a relentless attack on Earth, Cage is thrust into a suicide mission, only to be killed within minutes. However, something strange occurs: Cage finds himself in a time loop, forced to relive the same battle repeatedly.
With each iteration, Cage learns to fight more effectively and teams up with Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski, portrayed by Blunt. Together, they strive to turn the tide of the war against the aliens. According to the official plot synopsis, their repeated encounters ultimately bring them closer to victory.
The film was directed by Doug Liman and is based on the novel ‘All You Need Is Kill’ by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. During its production, the film faced title changes, originally considered titles like ‘Live Die Repeat’ before settling on ‘Edge of Tomorrow.’ Despite making over $370 million globally, it did not meet box office expectations.
‘Edge of Tomorrow’ received critical acclaim, holding a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and remains popular among fans. Meanwhile, Cruise, known for his action roles, is promoting his latest film, ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,’ which marks the end of the long-running franchise.
As Cruise continues to work on sequels for ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ and ‘Days of Thunder,’ rumors swirl about a potential sequel to ‘Edge of Tomorrow.’ Discussions between Cruise and Liman about a continuation of the story may happen amidst their busy schedules, particularly as they prepare for their next film, an action thriller titled ‘Deeper.’
