Tommy Paul Upsets Former Champion Norrie at Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, California — Tommy Paul advanced to the round of 16 at the BNP Paribas Open, defeating former champion Cameron Norrie 6-3, 7-5 on Sunday. The match took place over one hour and 33 minutes, showcasing Paul’s impressive performance with 24 winners and six aces.
As the No. 10 seed, Paul broke serve six times against his British opponent in a decisive victory. He is set to face either Daniil Medvedev, the No. 5 seed, or fellow American Alex Michelsen in the next round.
Other notable winners on Sunday included Tallan Griekspoor, who beat No. 29 seed Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-6(3), 6-3, and No. 8 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who dismissed No. 28 seed Matteo Berrettini 6-3, 6-3.
