Tottenham Hotspur Manager Candidates

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — Tottenham Hotspur is on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Ange Postecoglou. The team recently lifted the 2024-25 Europa League trophy, but a disappointing league performance saw them finish 17th, prompting the change.

Sources have indicated that Thomas Frank, Brentford‘s head coach, and Marco Silva, Fulham‘s manager, are the front-runners to take over. Both coaches have demonstrated impressive abilities, with Frank leading Brentford to a 10th place finish last season and developing players into key performers despite limited resources.

Silva previously guided Fulham to the Premier League as champions and successfully kept them in the division. His experience in top-flight football has garnered attention for the vacant position.

In addition to Frank and Silva, Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth is also a candidate, having led his team to surpass Brentford and Fulham in the last season, securing notable victories against Tottenham and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino, who managed Tottenham from 2014 to 2019, has dismissed rumors linking him to a return. Currently the head coach of the U.S. men’s national team, Pochettino stated, “It’s not realistic” to discuss a move back to Spurs. He emphasized his current commitment to preparing the U.S. team for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

With multiple candidates vying for the role, Tottenham’s next steps in its managerial search will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike.
