Traeger Launches Affordable Woodridge Series to Expand Smart Grilling Access
PORTLAND, Ore. — Traeger, a leading name in pellet grills, unveiled its new Woodridge series on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, aiming to make smart grilling more accessible. The lineup includes three models: the Woodridge ($799), Woodridge Pro ($999), and Woodridge Elite ($1,599), all designed to deliver Traeger’s signature quality at lower price points.
The Woodridge series marks a shift in Traeger’s strategy, focusing on affordability without sacrificing core features. The base model, Woodridge, offers 860 square inches of cooking space, Wi-Fi connectivity via Traeger’s WiFire technology, and a simplified control panel. The Pro and Elite models expand on this with larger cooking areas, additional features like Super Smoke mode, and enhanced storage options.
“When we set out to develop the Woodridge series, our goal was to bring as much quality and innovation as possible to price points accessible for every outdoor cook,” said Traeger CEO Jeremy Andrus in a statement.
The Woodridge series replaces the touchscreen controls found on pricier models with a more straightforward button-and-knob interface. The grills also feature Traeger’s Pop-And-Lock (PAL) rail system, allowing users to customize their setup with accessories like shelves and paper towel holders. Despite the lower price, the build quality remains robust, with sturdy legs and durable materials.
One standout feature is the WiFire app integration, which enables remote monitoring of grill temperature, pellet levels, and cooking progress. The app also provides a library of recipes, making it easier for beginners to get started. The Woodridge series maintains Traeger’s reputation for reliable performance, with a temperature range of 180-500 degrees Fahrenheit, suitable for both low-and-slow smoking and high-heat searing.
The Woodridge and Woodridge Pro are available now through Traeger’s website and select retailers in the U.S. and Canada. The Woodridge Elite, which includes an infrared side burner and enclosed storage cabinet, will launch later in spring 2025.
This new series addresses a gap in Traeger’s lineup, offering a more affordable entry point for consumers who want smart grilling capabilities without the premium price tag. With its combination of quality construction, smart features, and competitive pricing, the Woodridge series is poised to attract a broader audience of outdoor cooking enthusiasts.
