Trump’s Second Inauguration: Historic Indoor Ceremony Amid Arctic Chill
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term on Monday, January 20, 2025, in a rare indoor inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol due to an Arctic chill forecasted to grip the nation’s capital. The event marks the 60th presidential inauguration and will be covered extensively by Fox News and international media outlets, including Bulgaria’s bTV.
Fox News will provide wall-to-wall coverage starting at 5 a.m. ET with “Fox & Friends First,” hosted by Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus. The network’s flagship morning show, “Fox & Friends,” will follow at 6 a.m. ET, featuring live updates from hosts Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, Lawrence Jones, and Ainsley Earhardt. Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer will take over at 9 a.m. ET for “America’s Newsroom,” with Hemmer broadcasting live from Capitol Hill.
The main inauguration coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. ET, led by Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier and anchor Martha MacCallum. They will be joined by Harris Faulkner, Sandra Smith, and former Rep. Harold Ford Jr., D-Tenn., as Trump takes the oath of office at noon ET. The indoor ceremony is a departure from tradition, with only Presidents Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy having held indoor inaugurations in recent decades.
In Bulgaria, bTV will broadcast the inauguration live, starting at 5 p.m. local time. The special program, titled “Trump President Again,” will feature live coverage from Washington, D.C., by correspondents Ivan Georgiev, Teodora Trifonova, and cameraman Petar Dzhanavarov. The studio will host discussions on Trump’s policies, including migration, global conflicts, and international relations, with insights from political analysts and guests.
Trump’s second term comes after a contentious election cycle, with his running mate, Vice President-elect James David Vance, playing a key role in the campaign. The inauguration will also include the traditional parade, a staple since George Washington‘s first inauguration in 1789. bTV will showcase life-size portraits of all U.S. presidents, painted by Bulgarian artist Rosen Raykov-Rossin, displayed at the Booth Western Art Museum.
Fox News will continue its coverage into the evening with “The Five” at 5 p.m. ET, followed by “Special Report” with Bret Baier at 6 p.m. ET. Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, and Sean Hannity will host live broadcasts from inaugural balls, while Greg Gutfeld will wrap up the day’s events at 10 p.m. ET from the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall.
The historic event underscores the significance of Trump’s return to the White House and the challenges his administration will face in the coming years. Both domestic and international audiences will be watching closely as the 47th president of the United States begins his second term.
